Hibiscus or known in Malaysia as bunga raya (literally means the celebration flower). “Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia. The red petals symbolizes courage and the five petals represent the National Principles (translated as Rukun Negara).” Note : ‘Bunga‘ is the malay word for flower, ‘raya‘ refers to a grand celebration.
